We are happy to announce that our Coordinator, Prof. Angelos Marnerides, recently presented at a high-level event exploring AI governance and regulatory frameworks. Invited by the Office of the Commissioner of Communications, he delivered a talk on AI-driven security for Critical Infrastructure as part of “Driving Trustworthy AI through Design and Regulation” held on January 27, 2026.
The event, organized in partnership with the Cyprus Organisation for Standardisation (CYS), gathered European and national stakeholders to examine policy development, risk-based supervision, and the technical standards shaping trustworthy AI deployment.
He showcased the COCOON Programmable Node, demonstrating how AI-powered security operates in real-world scenarios, specifically focusing on protecting inter-connected power grids.
The talk offered tangible proof of how advanced AI systems can strengthen Critical Infrastructure resilience at a national scale.
